The Danish should feel disappointing with their bad luck. After Tine get injury and couldn’t play for her team, Peter Gade also get headache when they have to face ‘life and death’ match against Malaysia for semifinal spot. But it doesn’t mean Malaysia could pace them so easy. Kamilla Rytter Juhl succeeded to be hero for her team after two wonderful matches in mixed and women’s doubles. Indonesia would be surprised with this results since they just let 2nd tie players. They realized that China is the strongest team so they just let their younger players to take more experiences. Maria, Simon, and Devin/Lita actually have their big chance to beat the Chinese if they could play constantly either in 2nd or 3rd set. This whole matches took approximately 4,5 hours and break the record as the longest matches in this year Sudirman Cup event.

First match represented by new collaboration, Hendra and Ahsan. As his first team event, Ahsan played so well with his skills. Little bit awkward in the first with so many unforced error, Many return from his balls are out and doubtful. In the other court, Cai Yun play aggressively with his smashing and placing. Ahsan totally changes in 2nd set. With his spirit, Ahsan and Hendra compared Fu/Cai’s skills into tight match from the beginning of this set until 19-all. Beautifully placement to the baseline by Ahsan and reflex return too long by Fu Haifeng close this game for Indonesian pair. In final match, Ahsan failed to keep his spirit and rhythm when the Chinese control the match with their placing and bumping smash.

All England’s winner, Wang Yihan also need 3 set to beat bronze medalist Olympic 2008, Maria Kristin. Maria took 1st set as Yihan follow her game and couldn’t leveled Maria’s placing and smashing. After took many advices from Zhang Ning and Li Yong Bo, Yihan finally shows her true self skills and develop her game. Leading 8-0, 14-2 and 18-4, she forces rubber set 21-5. Although Maria succeed to minimize her errors in 3rd set, it only saved before interval 10-11. After that, Maria lost her spirit to balance Yihan smashing and drop shot to take 10 consecutive points and end this match.

Olympic gold medalist, Lin Dan also not at his best performance when he facing against Simon Santoso. Many smashes from Lin Dan could be returned by Simon. He also makes so many unforced error in front of the net. Meanwhile, Simon play aggressively in 1st set with his smash and lob to push Lin Dan play with his style. Unfortunately, Simon couldn’t keep his momentum in 2nd set. Lin Dan reverses the game and took it so easy for the next two set.

Another interesting match represented by Devin/Lita as the last chance for Indonesia to gather 1 last point. They’re surprising Zheng/Ma in 1st set to lead the game 20-18. But critical point syndrome canceled their winning and lost 20-22. DevTa revenge their lost in 2nd set but in the end after interval break, they’re failed to keep the rhythm and lost 14-21.

With this result, Indonesia will face against the winner of sub group 1A (Korea, red) in semifinal and China will challenge Malaysia for final ticket.
